Dogecoin's 71% retail long bias has turned the $0.0694 level into a crowded trade — a setup that historically precedes a flush before any sustainable recovery.
DOGE fell to $0.0694 as of 02:29 UTC on July 25, with 71% of retail traders positioned long while sellers dominated the tape across every hourly session.
"DOGE is pinned at $0.0694 with 71% of retail positioned long while aggressive sellers are winning the tape every hour — this is a long-squeeze setup, not a bottom," according to Coinglass positioning data and exchange order book analysis.
The imbalance creates a structural vulnerability. With the majority of longs concentrated near current levels, any breakdown below $0.069 could trigger cascading liquidations. Coinglass data shows that downside liquidity beneath the current range has already been largely flushed during the recent decline from $0.0916, but the concentration of leveraged longs at $0.069 to $0.070 presents a fresh target for sellers. A move to $0.065 would represent a 6.3 percent decline from current levels, potentially liquidating over-leveraged positions across Binance and OKX.
The setup mirrors a classic long-squeeze pattern: crowded positioning on one side creates the fuel for a sharp move in the opposite direction. If DOGE breaks below $0.069, the next support sits at $0.065, a level that has not been tested since the November 2024 rally. A flush to that zone would reset positioning and potentially set the stage for a genuine recovery — but only after the current long overcrowding is cleared.
The on-chain data tells a story that diverges from the technical chart. While DOGE is holding inside a higher-timeframe bullish order block between $0.069 and $0.075 — a zone that has historically attracted buying interest — the positioning data suggests this support may not hold without a deeper shakeout. The $100 million in cumulative short liquidations stacked between $0.072 and $0.076, noted in earlier Coinglass data, could still fuel a squeeze if buyers reclaim that zone. But with 71 percent of retail already long, there is little fresh buying power left to drive that move.
The $0.065 level as a positioning reset
A flush to $0.065 would accomplish what the current consolidation has not: clearing the deck of over-leveraged longs. The RSI on the daily chart is already in oversold territory, signaling that bearish momentum may be exhausting. A final capitulation move below $0.069, followed by a swift recovery, would mirror the Swing Failure Pattern that traders watch for in altcoin markets. If DOGE sweeps $0.065 and reclaims $0.069 within the same session, the setup would shift from bearish to neutral, with the path open toward the $0.072 resistance.
Conversely, a sustained breakdown below $0.065 with volume would invalidate the bullish order block entirely, exposing DOGE to the $0.058 to $0.060 zone — levels last seen during the broader market correction in mid-2024.
