Pump.fun generated $2.4 million in daily revenue on Aug. 26, its highest single-day figure since September 2025, as Solana meme token activity accelerates.
The figure was flagged by on-chain analytics accounts on X, with one thread citing DefiLlama data showing $85 million in 24-hour volume, $1.16 million in 24-hour revenue, and roughly $27 million in 30-day revenue for the Solana-based launchpad.
The revenue spike coincides with a broader Solana meme rally. The meme coin sector added roughly $3 billion in a single session, pushing total market cap to about $29.3 billion, up nearly 10 percent. Pump.fun traded about $286 million on Solana, ranking fourth among meme tokens by volume. The platform routes 50 percent of net revenue into PUMP buybacks and burns, with cumulative buybacks exceeding $430 million and more than 16 percent of total supply permanently removed.
The milestone places Pump.fun among the most profitable protocols on Solana, challenging traditional DeFi platforms in fee generation. With 53 percent of max supply still locked and daily buybacks running near $900,000, the platform's token economics remain a key driver for PUMP's price action as retail enthusiasm for meme tokens persists.
PUMP, the platform's native token, gained roughly 16.7 percent in 24 hours with 24-hour volume above $660 million, according to CoinMarketCap data. The token's 7-day performance was near +88 percent, and volume itself was up roughly 22 percent day on day, consistent with a reflexive loop where attention, volume, and buybacks feed on each other.
Short positioning has added to upward pressure. On-chain analytics from Valerius Labs showed 8 of 9 tracked short positions underwater on about $7.6 million notional, with roughly $1.5 million in unrealized losses. An unlock cohort moved about 52.92 billion tokens, but 97 percent went to other tracked recipients with zero confirmed sales. Derivatives data showed negative funding rates combined with falling open interest on PUMP, a setup traders flagged as favorable for a potential short squeeze.
The token was the most mentioned ticker on X, with social sentiment described as "greed" and a strict long-side trading bias. Coordinated "raid" style posts showed groups directing inflows into PUMP, and fresh airdrop-related messaging circulated on the platform. Whale accumulation was also visible on-chain, with one wallet that accumulated close to 100 million PUMP roughly a month ago now sitting on gains of about 170 percent.
The revenue milestone also highlights the growing profitability of meme token platforms relative to traditional DeFi protocols. Pump.fun's fee generation on Solana now rivals established lending and DEX protocols, a shift that could attract more developer and liquidity interest to the launchpad ecosystem. The platform's improved product funnel, which allows users to discover, evaluate, and buy memecoins without leaving the app, has lowered friction for new traders and contributed to sustained usage growth.
