Tensor's Level 4 Robocar will hit Turkish roads through a partnership covering 80% of the country's economic output.
Marti Technologies will deploy Tensor's autonomous vehicles on its ride-hailing platform across 20 Turkish cities covering about 80% of the nation's GDP, bringing Level 4 self-driving to one of the fastest-growing mobility markets.
"Türkiye represents a significant opportunity for autonomous mobility deployment at scale," Dr. Jay Xiao, chief executive officer of Tensor, said.
Tensor's Robocar, revealed in August 2025, is powered by 8x Thor-X NVIDIA GPUs and holds California's second-ever driverless testing permit for passenger vehicles. Marti, which has about 7.8 million all-time unique platform consumers, operates ride-hailing services in cities including Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir.
The partnership positions Marti as an early mover in autonomous ride-hailing in Türkiye, a market where no major AV operator has yet deployed at scale. For Tensor, the deal extends its global footprint beyond existing partnerships in the US, UAE, and Europe.
Tensor's Robocar Platform Bridges Personal and Fleet Markets
Founded in Silicon Valley in 2016, Tensor designed its Level 4 autonomous vehicle from the ground up for both personal ownership and professional fleet operations. The vehicle features a vertically integrated compute and sensor stack with proprietary sensor cleaning technology, enabling deep over-the-air firmware updates. While purpose-built for private owners, the platform includes native ride-share capabilities that allow integration into global autonomous mobility networks.
The Robocar's supercomputer, built around 8x Thor-X NVIDIA GPUs, supports sophisticated onboard AI processing with a safety-first architecture using high-redundancy systems. Tensor secured California's second-ever DMV permit for fully driverless passenger vehicle operation in 2020, following its CPUC permit for public RoboTaxi testing in 2019.
Marti's Infrastructure Provides a Launchpad for AV Deployment
Marti, founded in 2018, operates Türkiye's leading mobility super app with ride-hailing, delivery services, and a fleet of rental e-mopeds, e-bikes, and e-scooters. The company's proprietary software systems and IoT infrastructure span 20 cities representing approximately 80% of Türkiye's GDP, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya, and Konya.
"Our extensive field operations team, established infrastructure, and approximately 7.8 million all-time unique platform consumers position Marti to support the rapid, safe deployment of Tensor's autonomous vehicle fleet," Oguz Alper Oktem, founder and chief executive officer of Marti, said.
The partnership comes as autonomous ride-hailing operators globally race to expand beyond early adopter markets in the US and China. Türkiye's young, urbanized population and high smartphone penetration make it a logical next frontier for AV deployment, though regulatory frameworks for driverless operations remain under development.
Marti shares trade on the NYSE American under the ticker MRT. The company did not disclose the financial terms of the multi-year agreement or the number of vehicles to be deployed.
