Rocket One Inc. gained access to SpaceXAI's multimodal AI models through its API program, adding advanced coding, reasoning and vision capabilities to its defense and space computing technology stack.
"Access to leading foundation models is increasingly important as Rocket One builds an AI-first technology platform for the defense and space economy," Chief Executive Officer Robb Knie said.
The SpaceXAI API provides models for coding, reasoning, text, image, video and voice applications. Rocket One plans to evaluate the platform across software development, engineering design, mission planning, autonomous decision support and intelligent data analysis. The company holds exclusive rights to nanomagnetic and spintronic semiconductor technologies designed for radiation-tolerant computing in space and defense environments.
The US plans to spend about $1 trillion on defense in 2026, with a $1.5 trillion request for 2027 that would mark the largest year-over-year increase if approved. Rocket One, which trades on Nasdaq under RKTO, is positioning its AI and chip technologies to capture a share of rising government spending on space-based missile defense and next-generation military computing.
Rocket One's broader strategy combines access to leading AI software platforms with exclusive rights to next-generation semiconductor technologies for energy-efficient, high-performance computing in radiation-constrained environments. The company's technology targets applications in low-Earth orbit, deep-space platforms and defense systems, competing with larger contractors such as Lockheed Martin and RTX Corp., which hold backlogs of $186 billion and $271 billion, respectively.
Rocket One shares may see increased investor attention as the market prices in the strategic alliance with SpaceXAI. The company has not yet disclosed financial terms of the API program participation or any associated revenue expectations.
