Key Takeaways:
- Q2 net revenue of RMB 861 million, up 21.9% year over year
- Net profit rose 60% to RMB 70.6 million
- Total lidar shipments jumped 78.4% to 628,300 units
Key Takeaways:

Hesai Group reported Q2 net revenue of RMB 861 million, up 21.9% from a year earlier, as robot lidar shipments more than doubled.
The Shanghai-based lidar maker said growth was driven by demand across both advanced driver assistance systems and robotics applications, according to its unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30. Net profit climbed 60% to RMB 70.6 million.
Total lidar shipments reached 628,300 units, up 78.4% from 352,100 units a year earlier. ADAS lidar shipments rose 60.1% to 485,900 units, while robot lidar shipments jumped 193.4% to 142,400 units.
The robot lidar line is the fastest-growing part of Hesai's business, outpacing the ADAS segment that remains its largest volume driver. The company competes with RoboSense, Luminar and Innoviz in the global sensing market, and has pushed beyond automotive into industrial robotics, security surveillance and mapping applications.
Hesai, which listed on the Nasdaq in March 2020 under the ticker HSAI, has expanded its engineering footprint beyond Shanghai to North America and Europe. Its modular sensor architectures and perception software are tailored to automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers and technology integrators. The product lineup spans mechanical rotating units, solid-state and MEMS-based sensors, plus integrated software stacks for object detection and data fusion.
The robot lidar surge comes as the autonomous driving and robotics supply chain draws fresh investor interest, with lidar makers competing to cut cost and size while improving range and resolution. Hesai's push into robotics positions it to capture demand beyond passenger vehicles, where advanced driver assistance adoption continues to scale across Chinese automakers.
The company did not disclose full-year guidance or per-share earnings in the release. The results show robotics demand is becoming a second growth engine alongside ADAS, which could support margin expansion as robot lidar scales. Investors will watch the earnings call for updated segment margins and any outlook on robot lidar capacity for the second half.
