Microchip Debuts 12-Device 600V Gate Driver Family
On January 21, 2026, Microchip Technology expanded its high-voltage power management offerings by introducing a new portfolio of 600V gate drivers. The family consists of 12 distinct devices available in half-bridge, high-side/low-side, and 3-phase driver configurations. This launch directly targets the development of motor control and power conversion systems within demanding industrial and consumer applications.
The new components are engineered for fast and efficient switching, with current drive options ranging from 600 mA to 4.5A. By supporting 3.3V logic, the drivers facilitate seamless integration with microcontrollers. Microchip highlighted features such as enhanced noise immunity and internal deadtime protection for MOSFETs, which are critical for reliable performance in high-noise environments.
New 600V Drivers Target Growing Electrification Market
This product launch provides engineers with a more integrated system solution, combining the new gate drivers with Microchip's existing microcontrollers (MCUs) and MOSFETs. The company stated the portfolio addresses key industry trends, including the electrification of industrial systems, the growth in renewable energy, and the increasing demand for compact, efficient motor control solutions.
Rudy Jaramillo, VP of Microchip’s analog power and interface division, positioned the launch as a tool to accelerate customer development cycles and improve system reliability.
Microchip’s 600V gate drivers give our customers the reliability and efficiency they need to tackle complex motor control and power conversion challenges.
