Draganfly Establishes New Defense Partnership
Draganfly Inc., a developer of drone solutions and systems, announced a formal agreement with Global Ordnance on October 9, 2025. Global Ordnance, a U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) prime contractor, will serve as a U.S. defense partner for Draganfly’s line of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and related solutions. This collaboration is designed to accelerate U.S. defense adoption of Draganfly platforms, embed manufacturing and responsive supply chain support, and integrate mission-specific capabilities tailored for U.S. and allied defense applications.
This new partnership follows a significant contract announced on September 30, 2025, with the U.S. Army. The previous agreement was widely regarded as a transformative catalyst for the company, fundamentally altering its investment narrative and validating its technology and business model in the market.
Market Reaction and Company Performance
Following the announcement of the Global Ordnance partnership, Draganfly’s Canadian-listed shares (DPRO.CN) recorded a gain of 6.26%, while its NASDAQ-listed shares (DPRO) advanced by 3.11%. This positive market response reflects investor optimism surrounding Draganfly's expanding presence and validation within the defense sector. The earlier U.S. Army contract had already seen DPRO shares surge over 17%, with trading volume skyrocketing to more than 58 million shares, significantly above its daily average, underscoring strong investor confidence in its defense-related developments.
While Draganfly reported a net loss of $4.7 million in its second-quarter 2025 earnings report, and revenue fell short at $1.55 million against analyst estimates of $2.24 million, the company did report a slightly better-than-expected earnings per share (EPS) loss of ($0.44) against consensus estimates of ($0.46). Financially, Draganfly held over $22.5 million in cash at the end of Q2 2025, a position further strengthened by a $25 million registered direct offering finalized in July, providing capital to scale production and manage logistics for its defense contracts.
