CITIC Bank Lifts Dividend Payout to Record 31.75% on Stable Profit
CITIC Bank announced a record dividend payout after reporting fiscal year 2025 results that showed stable profitability. Net profit attributable to shareholders grew 3% year-over-year to 70.6 billion RMB, aligning with preliminary figures released in January. This profit growth came even as full-year revenue edged down by 0.3% to 212.6 billion RMB.
Highlighting its confidence and commitment to shareholder returns, the bank declared a dividend of 3.81 RMB per 10 shares. This corresponds to a payout ratio of 31.75%, a new high for the company and an increase from the 30.5% ratio in fiscal 2024. The move suggests a strong capital position and a focus on delivering value directly to investors.
Q4 Revenue Rebounds 9.7% on Strong Fee Income Growth
The bank's performance accelerated significantly in the final three months of 2025, with fourth-quarter revenue growing 9.7% year-over-year. This rebound reversed the 3.4% decline observed over the first nine months of the year. The growth was primarily fueled by non-lending activities.
Key drivers included a 57.6% annual increase in other non-net interest income, supported by gains on bond sales and higher operating lease revenue. Critically, net fee and commission income rose 5% year-over-year. This growth reflects strength in its bancassurance channel, where partner Prudential Public recently highlighted that its own 59% NBP growth in Mainland China was driven by a "particularly strong performance from CITIC Bank."
