In May 2021, Apollo Funds acquired Verizon Media, which encompassed iconic brands like Yahoo and AOL, for $5 billion. The transaction included $4.25 billion in cash, $750 million in preferred interests, with Verizon (VZ) retaining a 10% stake in the rebranded entity, Yahoo.
