Venice Token climbed to a record above $25 on Sept. 8 after the project burned $391,000 in VVV, its largest discretionary buyback, pointing to strong treasury revenue and accelerating supply deflation.

The largest discretionary buyback in Venice's history removed $391,000 worth of VVV from circulation on Sept. 8, sending the Base-based token 24 percent higher to a record above $25.
VeniceStats, the project's on-chain analytics account, confirmed the burn in its Week 36 report, which also detailed that 85 percent of observable protocol revenue is now burned and that the annual emission rate was cut from 3 million to 2.5 million VVV. The account flagged a scheduled "Sep 8 lump" of more than $379,000, implying additional periodic burns traders can anticipate. The report, titled "The Zecca Turns Its Dial Down," framed the emission cut as a deliberate tightening of tokenomics.
The burn extends a supply-reduction push that has been building for weeks. Venice now burns roughly 2,248 VVV per day from protocol revenue, and the emission cut trims new token issuance by 16.7 percent annually. VVV had already rebounded from $9.88 to $17.05 in prior sessions, breaking a double-bottom pattern around $14.71 before the latest leg higher. The token's move also coincided with Kalshi launching perpetual contracts on VVV, giving traders leveraged exposure on that venue for the first time. Social scanners flagged VVV as a breakout candidate with overbought RSI readings, while AI-narrative rotation into tokens including TAO, WLD, and Virtuals provided a supportive backdrop for the sector.
The record discretionary burn shows Venice's treasury is generating enough revenue to fund buybacks at scale, and with the emission cut now live, the deflationary trajectory could accelerate. The project's burn mechanism converts protocol revenue into token buybacks, reducing circulating supply and creating a direct link between platform usage and token value. Venice operates a privacy-focused AI inference platform, and its token accrues value through the buyback-and-burn model rather than traditional staking rewards.
Traders are watching whether Venice sustains this burn cadence in coming weeks, as continued supply reduction combined with AI-sector momentum could extend the rally. The project has not disclosed a fixed burn schedule, leaving the pace of discretionary buybacks dependent on treasury inflows. A 24 percent single-day move, however, raises the risk of profit-taking near current levels, and the token's overbought RSI suggests some technical consolidation may be due before the next leg higher.
