TotalEnergies bolstered its future production profile with a significant hydrocarbon discovery offshore the Republic of the Congo, encountering a 160-meter column that promises to add valuable barrels to its portfolio.
"This discovery on the Moho license is a promising development that leverages our exploration expertise and our established presence in the Republic of the Congo," a company spokesperson said.
The find was made through the MHNM-6 NFW exploration well, which targeted the Moho G structure. TotalEnergies EP Congo serves as the operator of the license with a 63.5% interest. The company confirmed the hydrocarbons were located in good-quality Albian reservoirs.
In a global market where Brent crude prices continue to influence investment decisions, this discovery enhances TotalEnergies' long-term revenue visibility. By converting exploration success into proven reserves, the find supports the firm's production capacity and strengthens its position in the West African region.
The company stated that an extensive data acquisition and sampling campaign was carried out to support the subsurface interpretation and prepare for future development of the Moho G structure.
