Strategy bought 4,603 bitcoin at $80,318 apiece last week, its second straight weekly purchase after a 10-week pause, lifting its hoard to 845,050 BTC.
The Tysons Corner, Virginia-based software firm, which executive chairman Michael Saylor has turned into the world's largest corporate bitcoin holder, disclosed the acquisition on Aug. 31. Prediction-market pricing implies a higher likelihood that Strategy's shares reach $100 by Dec. 31, according to Vera's market analysis.
The latest tranche cost roughly $370 million, extending a buying program funded largely through debt and equity issuance since Saylor began shifting the company's balance sheet into bitcoin in 2020. Strategy has widened its lead as the biggest publicly disclosed corporate holder through a string of such purchases, and the resumption after the pause reads as a deliberate return to accumulation rather than a one-off buy.
The renewed cadence matters beyond Strategy's own books. Corporate-treasury buying has become one of the structural demand pillars under bitcoin, running alongside the spot exchange-traded funds such as BlackRock's IBIT and Fidelity's FBTC that give institutions a regulated route into the token. Saylor's purchases add a second, company-level channel of demand that does not depend on daily fund subscriptions, and each fresh buy reinforces the price floor that accumulation has helped build.
For equity investors, the stock trades as a leveraged proxy for bitcoin, so the pace of accumulation feeds directly into how STRC is valued and how much token exposure the market prices in per share. That dynamic is why the weekly purchase cadence, not just the size of any single tranche, has become the metric traders watch most closely.
The open question is whether Saylor sustains the weekly rhythm into year-end. Prediction markets are already wagering on it, pricing a higher chance that STRC touches $100 by Dec. 31, and any further large purchases would strengthen that outlook while adding to the corporate demand that supports bitcoin's price. A slowdown or renewed pause, by contrast, would test whether the accumulation-driven bid can hold without fresh inflows.
