SenseTime (00020.HK) has cemented its decade-long leadership in China’s visual AI market by launching CV2.0, a significant upgrade that integrates generative AI into its core enterprise platform and signals a strategic push into overseas markets.
"Our visual AI business has taken the lead in completing the CV2.0 technology upgrade and commercial deployment, entering a stage of high-quality development with sustainable profitability," the company said in a statement citing a recent International Data Corporation (IDC) report.
The upgrade centers on SenseTime's SenseFoundry product, a platform for enterprise clients. The new architecture natively integrates the company's SenseNova large model, combining its general reasoning capabilities with specialized, industry-specific models. This "general-specialized integration" is designed to improve performance in complex and rare long-tail scenarios while maintaining operational efficiency, according to the company.
The move comes as the AI industry pivots from pure model capability to practical, profitable applications. By embedding generative AI at the foundational level of its visual AI platform, SenseTime aims to create "digital intelligent agents" that can connect visual data with business data, a move that could unlock new revenue streams and solidify its market position against competitors both in China and abroad. The company's focus is now on exporting its "China-style innovation" to a global audience.
