Mowi ASA (OSE:MOWI) reported a record-high harvest volume of 136,000 tonnes for the first quarter of 2026, a 26 percent increase from the same period last year.
The result significantly exceeds the company's own guidance of 128,000 tonnes issued during its Q4 2025 results presentation, signaling strong operational performance to start the year.
The growth was driven by strong output from its Norwegian operations, which harvested 75,500 tonnes. Farming operations in Scotland and Chile also contributed significantly with 20,500 tonnes and 21,000 tonnes, respectively.
The substantial beat on production guidance is a bullish signal for revenue and earnings, likely to be viewed positively by the market. Mowi's ability to ramp up production could lead to upward revisions in analyst estimates for the full year.
The total harvest volume represents a significant jump from the 108,000 tonnes harvested in Q1 2025. Regional breakdown for the quarter also included 8,000 tonnes from Canada, 2,000 from Ireland, 3,000 from the Faroes, and 6,000 tonnes from its Iceland operations via Arctic Fish.
The record volume demonstrates successful execution and positions Mowi to capitalize on firm salmon prices. Investors will now await the full Q1 2026 financial report for details on profitability and cost metrics.
