Menzies Consolidates 20 Million Files in Firmwide Overhaul
On January 14, 2026, top UK accountancy and business advisory firm Menzies LLP announced its deployment of the iManage Cloud platform to overhaul its data management infrastructure. The initiative consolidates more than 20 million files previously spread across siloed shared drives into a single, secure working environment. This strategic shift provides a unified platform for the firm's 1,100 audit, tax, and advisory professionals to create, access, and collaborate on client work.
By centralizing its knowledge base, Menzies aims to drive firmwide productivity, strengthen data governance, and ensure a more consistent standard of client service. The move addresses inefficiencies from its previous on-premises system, which suffered from limited user adoption and could not support the firm's rapid expansion.
Migration Under Two Months Sets Stage for AI Adoption
Working with iManage partner Morae, Menzies completed the entire cloud migration in under two months, a rapid timeline for a project of this scale. The new platform is designed to scale with the firm's growth, which has seen its headcount increase from 400 to more than 1,100 employees over the last five years. The integration with Microsoft's software suite has been a key factor in streamlining daily workflows.
This cloud transformation also serves as a strategic foundation for future technological advancements. Menzies is actively exploring iManage's next-generation AI capabilities, including intelligent classification and Copilot integration. The firm sees the governed cloud environment as critical for safely adopting advanced AI tools.
It’s also given us the reassurance that as AI develops, we’ll be able to adopt it safely and in a way that fits our governance needs.
