Life Electric Vehicles Holdings Inc. is bringing e-bike assembly to the U.S. with a new 100,000-square-foot facility in Tennessee, a move that will create 288 jobs and onshore production for major brands including Rad Power Bikes.
"Establishing the Tennessee facility represents a major milestone for LEV Manufacturing and the broader Life EV Group, including Rad Life Mobility," said Life Electric Vehicles Holdings CEO Robert Provost. "This location will serve as a central hub for distribution and planned assembly of leading electric mobility brands."
The Algood, Tennessee, plant will become the core of the company's U.S. operations, supporting assembly, logistics, and fulfillment for its recently acquired Rad Power Bikes and Serial 1 Cycle Company brands, alongside its own Life EV products.
The project represents a significant strategic shift for LFEV, aiming to shorten its supply chain and build a scalable U.S. manufacturing platform after acquiring key assets from Rad Power Bikes, which has over 680,000 riders.
Onshoring Production to Meet Consumer Demand
The move directly addresses a key question from consumers about where their products are made. "One of the top questions Rad receives from our more than 680,000 riders is, 'Where is my e-bike made?'" said Jim Brown, Rad Life Mobility CEO. "With this announcement, we're excited that the answer will soon start with 'right here in the U.S.'"
The decision to establish the facility in Putnam County was praised by state officials. "Tennessee's strong, business-friendly climate makes our state one of the best places to live, work and raise a family," Governor Bill Lee said in a statement.
The new plant is a key part of LFEV's strategy to build a vertically integrated electric mobility platform in North America. The company's LEV Manufacturing arm previously acquired Serial 1, the premium e-bike brand spun out of Harley-Davidson. This was followed by the more recent acquisition of the Rad Power Bikes brand and its assets.
