Dupixent, from partners Sanofi and Regeneron, showed significant improvement in esophageal function for adults with eosinophilic esophagitis in a 24-week Phase 4 trial.
The data, showing Dupixent bested a placebo, was presented on May 5, 2026, at the Digestive Disease Week (DDW) conference, according to a company announcement.
The trial met its primary endpoint, with dupilumab (Dupixent) showing clinically meaningful improvements in esophageal distensibility. The drug also reduced disease-related structural changes and inflammation in the esophagus compared to the control group.
The positive results are bullish for the blockbuster anti-inflammatory drug, potentially paving the way for wider adoption and expanded labeling. This strengthens the market position of both Sanofi and Regeneron in the immunology space.
The findings add to a growing body of evidence for Dupixent's mechanism of action. The news was presented at DDW 2026, a key industry event that also featured promising data for other inflammatory conditions. The continued success of Dupixent is a key catalyst for investors, with full trial data expected to be published later this year.
