Billionaire investor Stanley Druckenmiller has liquidated his holdings in Alphabet Inc. (GOOGL) and initiated positions in two companies at the forefront of agentic artificial intelligence, DigitalOcean Holdings Inc. (DOCN) and BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR), according to reports on May 25, 2026.
This portfolio adjustment reflects a significant strategic pivot from established tech giants to more specialized AI firms. "The shift into agentic AI suggests a belief that smaller, more focused companies may offer greater growth potential in the next phase of artificial intelligence," an analyst familiar with Druckenmiller's strategy said.
Druckenmiller's new holdings include DigitalOcean, a cloud platform for AI applications, which has seen its stock surge 466.13 percent over the past year. The second, BitMine Immersion Technologies, the world's largest corporate holder of Ethereum, is under consideration for inclusion in the Russell 1000 index. BitMine has a market capitalization of $8.58 billion, while DigitalOcean's stands at $16.54 billion.
The move away from Alphabet, a leader in foundational AI models, to companies focused on "agentic" systems—which can perform complex tasks autonomously—suggests a bet on the next evolution of AI technology. For investors, this signals a potential shift in where value will be created in the AI sector. The upcoming Russell 1000 index reconstitution on June 26 is the next major catalyst for BitMine.
