Dogecoin whale buys 3 billion DOGE sparking rally speculation

A single Dogecoin whale address accumulated over 3 billion DOGE, valued at $294 million, ahead of the community-significant date of April 20.

"This scale of accumulation by a single entity is significant as it removes a substantial amount of DOGE from the immediate open market," said analysts from Arkham Intelligence, a blockchain analysis firm.

The series of transactions, identified on-chain before April 16, 2026, moved the 3 billion tokens to a newly funded wallet. This large-scale acquisition represents a significant portion of Dogecoin's daily trading volume, effectively reducing the liquid supply available for sale on exchanges. Data from CoinGecko shows Dogecoin's 24-hour trading volume is approximately $3.5 billion.

This move is being interpreted by market participants as a bullish signal, potentially setting the stage for a price rally. The removal of such a large token block from circulation lowers potential sell-side pressure, which could amplify the impact of any new buying demand leading up to the April 20 date, a day often associated with meme coin volatility.
