BlackRock Inc. selected Galaxy Digital as a validator for its iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHB) on April 9, a strategic move that comes as the fund’s assets under management exceeded $435 million.
"The addition of a firm like Galaxy Digital enhances the credibility and security of the fund," a BlackRock spokesperson said in a statement.
The ETHB fund, which offers investors staked Ethereum exposure, has seen steady inflows since its launch. The selection of Galaxy, a prominent digital asset financial services firm, diversifies the ETF's validator set, reducing single-point-of-failure risks. Other validators in the lineup include established players in the crypto staking space.
This integration of a crypto-native company into a traditional finance ETF product highlights the growing convergence between Wall Street and the digital asset industry. The partnership could attract more institutional investors to ETHB, potentially boosting capital flows into the broader Ethereum ecosystem and positively impacting investor sentiment toward ETH.
