Key Takeaways:

Bitget, the world's largest Universal Exchange by user count, launched US stock options trading on Thursday, becoming the first major crypto platform to offer options on individual US-listed equities alongside crypto and CFD markets covering gold, forex, commodities and indices.
"From tokenized stocks to now options, we are executing on convergence," Gracy Chen, chief executive officer at Bitget, said. "This is innovation crypto was born to push, our products are way ahead of its time in providing advanced trading access to stocks, gold, crypto and worldwide assets."
The initial release supports single-leg long call and long put strategies for eligible users. Calls let traders take a bullish position on a stock, while puts can be used to express a bearish view or hedge downside exposure. Risk for buyers is capped at the premium paid, though an option may expire worthless if the expected price move does not materialize. Bitget plans to add multi-leg strategies as the product develops.
The launch expands Bitget's Stock+ product line, which already includes tokenized stocks, pre-IPO access and direct trading of more than 10,000 US equities. The move positions Bitget as the only major crypto exchange currently offering US stock options, putting pressure on rivals such as Binance, Bybit and OKX to develop similar hybrid products or risk losing market share. The US options market processed more than 15.2 billion contracts in 2025, or roughly 60 million per trading day, reflecting surging demand from both retail and institutional participants for directional trading and hedging tools.
Bitget, which serves more than 125 million users across 150 regions, has been expanding its multi-asset offering beyond crypto. The exchange also launched TradFi 101 on July 1, an educational initiative in partnership with Coin Bureau, CoinGecko and TradingView designed to help crypto-native investors understand traditional financial markets. The six-module curriculum covers financial foundations, asset classes, market mechanics, macroeconomics and risk management, culminating in a module on the convergence of digital and traditional assets within a unified trading environment.
