Baxter Unveils Dynamo Series Stretcher on January 13
Baxter International announced the U.S. launch of its Dynamo Series smart stretcher on January 13, 2026, during the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference. The new product is designed for use in emergency departments, perioperative environments, and patient transport, aiming to reduce the physical and cognitive load on healthcare teams. The Dynamo Series represents the latest addition to Baxter's portfolio of smart beds and connected care solutions, intended to streamline patient handling and improve care quality.
The stretcher is a vital bridge between care teams and patients. We designed the Dynamo Series to strengthen these connections by addressing some of the toughest challenges care teams face.
— James Teaff, President of Care & Connectivity Solutions at Baxter.
New Design Aims to Reduce Up to 1 Million Annual Patient Falls
The Dynamo Series integrates several technologies to address critical safety issues, particularly patient falls, which affect 700,000 to 1 million people in U.S. hospitals annually. The stretcher features Baxter’s SafeView+ system, which projects visual cues to indicate safety status, and a three-mode bed exit alarm with an auto-rearm function. Optional connectivity enables the device to send real-time alerts and patient data directly to electronic medical records and nurse call systems like Baxter's Voalte.
Furthermore, the design seeks to minimize the need for patient transfers. Integrated stirrups allow for a range of procedures, such as obstetric and pelvic exams, to be performed directly on the stretcher. This versatility, combined with a full electric suite for powered adjustments, is intended to reduce physical strain on caregivers and lower the risk of patient injury during movement.
U.S. Launch Bolsters Connected Care Portfolio
The Dynamo Series is now available for order in the United States, with initial availability scheduled for the first half of 2026. Baxter also plans for select geographic expansion later in the year. This launch strengthens the company's Care & Connectivity Solutions segment by offering a versatile product that enhances both patient safety and operational efficiency. By providing one of the widest care surfaces in the stretcher category, the device also improves comfort and safety for a diverse range of patient sizes, reinforcing Baxter's strategy to innovate within the connected medical device market.
