PostFinance Adds 6 New Tokens After 565,000 Transactions
PostFinance, the bank affiliated with the Swiss Post, has significantly expanded its cryptocurrency services by adding six new digital assets. The new tokens available for trading are Algorand (ALGO), Arbitrum (ARB), NEAR Protocol (NEAR), Stellar (XLM), USDC, and Sui (SUI), bringing the platform's total selection to 22. The expansion caters to strong customer demand, which has driven over 565,000 transactions and the creation of more than 36,000 investment portfolios since the service launched in early 2024. Customers can trade the assets directly through the bank's e-finance portal or app, using funds from their private accounts with a minimum investment of just $50.
Crypto Service Delivers 290M Francs to Parent Company
The strategic push into digital assets has proven to be a financial success for the institution. PostFinance generated an operating profit of 290 million Swiss francs, providing a vital contribution that helped offset challenges in Swiss Post Group's other segments, such as a 4.2% drop in addressed letter volumes. The performance highlights the crypto division's role as a key profit driver within the state-backed conglomerate.
Without PostFinance’s input, the group’s overall profit would have been near zero in a tougher environment.

Future Plans Signal Deeper Crypto Integration
PostFinance is signaling a long-term commitment to digital assets with plans for further integration. The bank intends to roll out access for corporate clients and expand its staking services, building on an Ethereum staking feature launched earlier in 2025. This forward-looking strategy is supported by a new leadership structure, introduced on March 1, which created an extended Executive Board to accelerate strategic execution. According to Dr. Alexander Thoma, Head of Digital Assets, the expansion fulfills clear customer demand for crypto access through a trusted banking partner with low barriers to entry.
