The crypto industry now supports 34,000 direct jobs and contributes $55 billion to the US economy in 2026, the report showed.
The hiring positions Amazon to compete with other Big Tech firms — including Block, Coinbase, and Robinhood — that have integrated crypto into their core offerings. A successful hire could accelerate Bitcoin adoption among Fortune 500 companies and pressure rivals to announce similar strategies, Bitwise Chief Investment Officer Matt Hougan said in a separate note, naming Coinbase and BlackRock among firms with real crypto exposure.
