Together they committed USD186 million for 14.8 million shares, representing about 64 percent of the offering at the median offer price of HKD98.5.
The Hong Kong public offering accounts for 5 percent of the global offering, with the international placing covering the remaining 95 percent. At the median offer price, net proceeds are estimated at approximately HKD2.129 billion. The company supplies AI-powered, 3D vision-guided robotics components, a segment drawing increasing institutional interest as automation demand accelerates across manufacturing. Trading begins September 1 on the Main Board.
The cornerstone roster spans global asset managers and hedge funds, with Baillie Gifford and Jane Street Capital among the most prominent names. The participation of Golden Link, BYD's investment arm, ties the robotics supplier to one of China's largest EV manufacturers, which could support factory automation integration. BYD shares traded down 4.99 percent on Friday, with short selling of HKD408.89 million recorded at a ratio of 30.67 percent.
The IPO arrives as Hong Kong's equity market shows renewed activity. HKEX reported first-half 2026 average daily turnover of HKD283 billion, continuing to set new highs, which provides a supportive backdrop for new listings. The company did not disclose its use of proceeds breakdown or lead underwriters in the announcement.
The robotics components sector has become a focal point for investors tracking China's industrial automation push. MECH-MIND's 3D vision technology enables robots to perceive and interact with their environment, a capability increasingly in demand across electronics assembly, logistics, and automotive manufacturing. The company's positioning at the intersection of AI and robotics places it in a competitive segment that has drawn significant capital in recent years.
The pricing gives MECH-MIND Robot a valuation that will be tested against listed robotics peers when trading commences. First-day trading on September 1 will gauge institutional demand, with the 64 percent cornerstone coverage providing a base of committed buyers. Investors will also watch for the final subscription ratio when the offering closes on August 27.
