Filecoin gained about 20 percent from Monday's open to near $0.80, testing the $0.86 resistance that caps recovery against a bearish swing structure.
"The lower boundary has continued to act as support, while the upper trendline keeps pressure on the recovery," The Boss, an analyst on X, said. "What has changed is the degree of compression."
The token reclaimed its 20-day EMA at $0.7178, 50-day EMA at $0.7271, and 100-day EMA at $0.7742, with the directional index flipping bullish as +DI reached 31.79 versus 19.30 for -DI. FIL also recovered the 0.618 Fibonacci level near $0.7641, and a decisive daily close above the 0.786 level at $0.8055 could open a path toward $0.8582 and the psychological $0.90 mark.
The stakes are whether FIL's double-digit surge converts into a trend reversal or stalls at resistance. Open interest stands near $198.4 million, down from peaks above $450 million, while spot markets recorded roughly $274,580 in net outflows on Sept. 2 — a pattern that could limit upside if buying demand fails to strengthen.
The rally stands out because the broader crypto market pulled back Sept. 2 after the United States and Iran exchanged more strikes in the Middle East, per CryptoPotato. FIL's Relative Strength Index briefly rose above 80 and now sits beyond 70, an overbought reading that has prompted some traders to lock in gains. Crypto trader Mehmet GIZIK said he closed his FIL position for a $10,200 profit.
Analysts on X remain split on the outlook. Crypto GVR identified the $0.50-$0.70 zone as "the potential reversal area," arguing a strong recovery could open the door to a push toward $2 in the long term. JAVON MARKS projected a 1,200 percent jump to $2.94 if FIL holds its breakout, followed by moves toward $7.50 and $11.40.
On the downside, $0.7641 provides the first major support, followed by $0.7358 and $0.7271. A rejection near $0.81 could trigger a pullback toward $0.7641, and losing that level would expose FIL to supports around $0.7062 and $0.6700. The 200-day EMA at $0.9332 remains the key level to reclaim for stronger medium-term bullish momentum.
For FIL holders, the next sessions will determine whether the rally was a short-lived squeeze or the start of a trend reversal. A confirmed breakout above $0.86 with rising volume would likely attract additional buyers and could push the token toward $1, while a rejection risks a retest of the $0.65-$0.70 region that marked the recent bottom.
